Do
you make models for flight simulators other than MSFS? |
| Unfortunately not. MelJet's FlightSim
models are currently built exclusively for Microsoft's Flight Simulator
2002 and 2004. |
| |
| 02.
Are
your models backward compatible with Microsoft Flight Simulator 98 or
2000? |
| No, they are not. This is
because the flight models cannot be read by the FS98 or FS2000 engine.
What's more, the current models are built to utilize features only found in and
compatible with FS2002/2004. |

Are
your models compatible with Flight Simulator 2002/2004? |
| All MelJet models are now
built only for FS2002 and FS2004. |

Why
do I sometimes get low frame rates when I run your aircraft in FS? |
| MelJet's aircraft models are designed with quality
and detail in mind. This has been my top priority ever since
I started out. Conserving polygons for the sake of frame rates has been
a distant second. As a result, the models have grown to contain over
60000 polygons. This gives FS a lot
more work to do as it has to render more polygons per second. This in
turn reduces the frame rate of the simulator. |

| 05.
Why
do you give away your works for free? |
| MelJet believes in the
freeware spirit and would like to share these airplane models with others in the
community. |
| |
| 06.
What
are your FlightSim design plans for the future? |
| At present, plans are to
stick to aircraft design. Aircraft most likely in the pipeline are
Boeing Commercial Jets and other general aviation aircraft. |
| |
| 07.
Do
you have any plans to branch out to FS panel or scenery design? |
| At present, new
versions of the 777 and 747-400 are being developed and
one of the goals is to add a realistic panel set to the
airplane. |

How
do I install your aircraft to run in FS2002/2004? |
| Installing aircraft for
FS2002/2004 is really a very simple process. When you unzip the archives,
you'll see a folder named something along the lines of "Boeing
747-400 United Airlines N196UA". Inside this folder, there will be
four other folders titled "model", "panel",
"sound" and "texture". If these are not there, then
you are looking at the wrong folder. Copy or cut this entire folder
named "Boeing 747-400 United Airlines N196UA" and paste it in
your FS2002/2004 Aircraft Directory. Depending on where you installed FS2002/2004,
this Aircraft Directory may be located in C:\FS2002\Aircraft or
C:\Program Files\FS2002\Aircraft
Once you have pasted that folder there,
start up FS2002/2004, click on select aircraft from the aircraft menu, and
choose the model you have just installed from the list of aircraft
shown. |

I
have followed all instructions as stated in the readme.txt to install
the aircraft but it doesn't appear in FS2002's Aircraft Menu. Why is
this so? |
| This is usually an aliasing
problem. By default, the panel and sounds of MelJet models are
configured to read off default files that came with FS2002/2004. For example,
the sounds are aliased to read off the sounds of the Boeing 737-400
provided by Microsoft. If these files are missing, the entire aircraft
will not be displayed on the FS2002/2004 aircraft menu. To make sure this
doesn't happen, ensure that all such files are in place before using the
aircraft downloaded from MelJet. |

How do I open the cargo doors on your 747-400F?
|
|
To open the cargo doors,
press "Shift +E", release, then immediately press
"2".
|
|
|

Help! The textures
don't display properly! What do I do? |
|
This is usually a problem
with the graphic card. Try checking for the latest drivers.
That usually corrects the problem.

The landing light splash on the starboard side of the 747-400F
fuselage does not disappear even when they are off...
|
|
This
issue has now been fixed and you can download the patch
from the 747-400F downloads page.
